Most of my shot are done by pre-focusing. Those secondary equipment can't really support my setup. Nvm still can live with that. ;D

A good and stable tripod and head is a must for birding, cant compromise on that. Flash must be set to -2EV or there abot when the flash extender is attached else it will be too harsh as seen in yr 1st backside..i mean pic.
Aim for the eye. keep it up, from these pics i can feel you are getting nearer to the birds already. slowly try to get the side or front views.

Do not, I repeat DO NOT but Arca Swiss ball head. Heard of many who use it got jammed. Use hammer also cannot turn the ball.
Buy Gitzo tripod if you can afford or Feisol may be a cheaper option. Those really poor like me uses Benro (temporary until i strike toto again)
Get the wimberley head if you really want to go into birding. Again poor man like me uses Manfrotto 393 Gimbal head.
