You can perform better than these.
1st photo suffers from out of focus. Were you too close? if you are closer than yr kit lens min focusing distance, it will never be in focus. 2nd photo is under exposed.

1st photo too bright. 2nd photo too dark.
Tell us your settings so we can comment better.
Since it is digital, did you try different settings ?

Bro, your 1st photo setting is :
ISO 800 f5.6 1/160 Flash fired Evaluative Metering
Why shoot at ISO 800 during daytime? Secondly, since you are using flash, you should compensate it, at least -1 stop, otherwise, the flash light blown out the detail of the flower.
