Below are some extracts for Macro definitions so that yuo can get an idea of what is macro and what isn't The term "macro" means that the image on film is the same size or larger than the subject. "Although the terms macro and micro photography are used synonymously, macro photography generally refers to most close-up work conducted with macro lenses. By contrast, micro photography refers to high magnification close-up work that goes beyond the use of macro lenses." A real macro has a ratio of 1:1 to 10:1. I would say this is definitely a macro while this isn't. There are a bunch in the pool I would say don't fit the definition of macro and are closer to being close ups. www.dpreview.com/learn/?/Glossary/Optical/Macro_01.htm
