Admire you for getting up so early!
If you have photoshop why don't you try and play with shadow / highlights (found under image adjustments I think).
By moving the sliders you might be able to make the merlion a Silhouette.

Nice! Like the Sihouette and the outline of merlion, the sun set look good with the reflection over the water (IMHO). =D
Don't know what to critic about. Hear what others have to say. =D

Very nice... went there once with a few fellow to try to capture this shot.. it never happened .. the sun did not raised properly... sign..
A tight cropped I feel might be nice.. the left and right does not really contribute to this beautiful sunrise.. by croppiing the sides, you can also place the Merlion in line with the rule of third.. also the sky and floor can do with a little tripping..
Would be nice if you did a longer exposure.. that way the water from the lion mouth would be more "silky"
Just my 2 cents

thanks netbaby ..
thanks lowlights .. will try as suggested, but if were to set a longer exposure, it would have blown the sky/sun? in fact did try using ND8, but just don't like the result ..
