is it necessary to format the CF card evrything we use it?

dunno about others... before i start shooting everytime, i would check what's in the CF card first...to make sure i got those in my computer already..after that i just format the card straight for use...

wahh...cant be serious bah....
like that will spoilt camera meh?? thought is always gd to format inside the camera you are using?

So advisable to format with the camera. Just make sure while formating don open or move the CF card. JM2C

JM2C yup yup yup!! thats exactly happening to my CF card.....but i didnt format it.... juz after D/L the pics, it became unreadable on my camera......haiz....any way to settle it?

If all photos were uploaded, then just reformat the CF using camera. (Guess you have done that if you wanted to?)
However if you still want to keep the photos, or if some are still to be uploaded, you need a file recovery software. Google it, you will find one that is good and free. Sorry cannot remember the name of the programme. Once installed, use the card reader to read the CF and proceed to recover. Don't know if that helps as this is the best I could think of. Cheers.

If its a lexar cf card, it has a recovery program which may be use to recover damaged files.

If you are using Sandisk CF card, you should have the mini CD recovey software.

lexar has a full format function in the image rescue so you cant retrieve back any image. but now my card like a bit sot. scaryyy!!!!
