BigU2fan - LOL - ppl on the course are already asking me to defend my choices - which is a revealing exercise on individual perceptions / artistic licence etc. Phew, I won't go into a philisophical discussion. I chose 'bad boyz' for a number of reasons: 1. It made me go out of my comfort zone and talk to these teenagers. Rather than being 'tough' they giggled as I shouted 'think James Dean'. A nice ending to my scarey rite of passage. 2. Skating boarding is probably illegal in public places and I liked the contrast of conservative traditions and rebellious teenagers who are the same the world over. 3. As soon as I saw the colourful undersides of the skateboards and the sweaty, dark clothes I knew this would be a great image to try my skills in CS2 (I think this is the first time I have mimiced USMs great photo with the stripy jumper). Thanks for sharing. I see why now. You mentioned about a course, are you on some kind of photography course? Personally photos of the Esplanade has been done to death, almost a cliche. So that photo is too straightforward for me. I would prefer a different angle for the Esplanade, personal prefernece.

BigU2fan - I completely agree about the Esplanade, the photo doesn't do it for me either! However, its a perfect shot to depict 'Singapore' for my first assingment.

LL24 This photo took some work as there are blown out areas at the back & I'm worried that I have over sharpened the grill in the foreground. It was a hard photo to capture as the chef was moving constantly. I'd like to go back at some point and take some better shots.

But I afraid that the grill is indeed sharper than the chef. Secondly, having the chef behind the grill seems to be a bit distracting.

LL29 This image is not a keeper - but an empty road in Sg is a sight to behold. I have many images to play with, but can't decide which composition is best. Feel free to offer your suggestions. I should add that this road was underconstruction, hence I could take my time - it's since opened up!

To have a leading line to the point of interest is always better...

Thanks Broccoli LL30 Not sure what I think about this one. I attempted skin texture improvement techniques as well as skin tone corrections. I think she was wearing coloured contacts; as I experimented with different hues her eyes would become scarey. Also the made up face and neck mis-match which challenged me. FYI this "Pongal Beauty" is a performer on stage hence the bold make up and clothes.

Should use the healing brush to take out the spots from her face

Cecil - it made seem strange but I'm rubbish at using that tool. I have to use clone on low opacity. As for the patch tool, when ever I use it, it seems to blend other colours from other locations *sigh*. LL31 This photo needed the child facing the camera. I also needed to include the vegetables they were looking at. It is candid moment and is difficult to capture every thing in a stolen moment. In CS2 I tried to correct the overblow rim of the basket, unsuccessfully.

Mandy, nice color of clothing wore by the people. Remember what Cecil has said about composition? The people are looking at something on the left. Therefore, you should give a little bit more space on the left hand side of the photo.
